I'd like to imagine things differently with the bears. They were once married, they divorced a few months back and the male bear hasn't paid his child support salmon cheque so the mother bear decides that the bear courts are too slow in making him pay so she takes matters into her own hands. I mean look at the male bear, he looks so defeated... like a divorced man. He only gets to see his kids on the weekends but he was just at that fishing spot trying to get some salmon currency to go to the bear strip club to drown his sorrows before the weekend when he has to take care of his kid.

Something makes me think that the big black bear might have been the father to the ghost bears cups. I think they've encountered before in the documentary and he also didn't really attack her or her cups. He most likely would have tried to kill her cups so he could mate with her (as bears and other animals often do), but they're smart enough to know not to kill their own offspring. So that's what I thought when I saw their encounters, but it's just a theory 🤷
