What is the Punishment for Emergency Ejection? #shorts
Ever wonder if pilots get punished for ejecting from aircraft? After all airplanes are expensive and what if the pilots prematurely abandoned the vessel? #shorts

So what I got from this is I’m better off landing a ticking time bomb than saving my life cool
Better to have injuries than die.

So the punishment is from their spines going "fuck this shit" not their commanders.
So the answer is no
Safety but not so safe
Better hurt and seeing another day than dead
This was a very fuckoff roundabout way to say no, who the fuck would punish a pilot for having to eject in a dangerous situation?? Planes are replaceable, but lives aren't, even if the pilot gets hurt from the ejection and can't fly again
You lose the expense plane simple
Me: hello Insurance: hello what can we do for you today Me: im i insured on jets???
They definitely need to fix that
It can also result in Maverick not engaging MIG aircraft.
So you can die or lose your job as a pilot, so either way is a lose-lose
If I ever become a pilot, ill keep this in mind. If I crash ill just go down with the plane and die.
We can agree that we don't like sudden elections.
Woah
Partially wrong information. There are combat fighter pilots who have ejected from their aircrafts n even captured by enemies, returned to home country through a treaty and are back to the same combat flying role they were in earlier.
Never wondered it but now I know I guess.
You survived, your fired
Understanding more how Goose died!
He missed the fun fact a pilot can only do that twice in his lifetime I learned that back in 5th grade when school was still OK
Abhinandan ejected from his plane when he got shot by pak Airforce he was not hurt
ill tell you one thing thats nuts is any jet with a back seat has an ejection handle in the back as well and one time a journalist was taking a ride and grabbed it after a crazy maneuver and thats all it took. luckily for some reason it halfway malfunctioned and the pilot was not ejected so he did land the jet but the journalist got launched out. i can understand wanting to be able to pull it fast but some type a safety might be a good idea for passengers.
Plane goes boom rught
You saved your life Boss: your fired
“Punishment” isn’t the best word to use. Punishment implies you’re being punished because you did something negative or bad. Pulling the emergency eject handle isn’t necessarily bad. “Consequences” is a better word because it just implies that there was a result, usually bad, after doing another thing. “Ban” isn’t a good word either because it implies there’s someone forbidding you from flying planes, when it’s just your health condition that bans you. Although you did say “medically ban” later, you didn’t initially do the meaning sounds awkward. Maybe “prevent” would be the better word.
Most pilots can squeeze out more flights after an ejection assuming they weren’t at fault No one is permanently grounded because of an ejection, especially not in modern times where pilots are considered one of the most valuable assets to maintaining readiness, there’s a whole slew of evaluations you through after you punch out and if you fail those THEN you’re grounded Even if you do get to fly again, if you were to have another accident the damage to the spine after multiple ejections won’t be able to go unnoticed
Alright forget joining the air force, I'm joining the marines.

Ok WHATS RELIGION RELATED HERE DUDE GETS EJECTED IS THAT GOD DOING IT HUH
Bonus fact : You can eject, heal, and be cleared to fly, but if you eject again you will be permanently grounded because of the toll on your body.
The safest ejection seat is the Zvezda K-36.After an ejection with it pilots can hop on another plane and fly off, right away. Made in CCCP and todays Russia. ;)
The forbidden YEET switch
So it’s just a hardware ban
Thats why there's a strange rule in Indian Air Force stating a certain length for legs of fighter jet pilots. So that your leg don't hit the cockpit controls when ejecting.

Crazy
Is there anything on testing the ejection on a plane, even if it’s still grounded? I’d at least want to test it to make sure my ejection seat works just fine before I go into combat and actually have to use it.

@Xyz Rumbo so... would that mean the pilot or whoever is testing it get fired for doing so?
Xyz Rumbo
Vor 8 Stunden
Yes, they test it, of course
Just a 1 month body pain from the ejection, it's not that bad
Why even put the emergency eject in their in the first place if they are just gonna get kicked out for keeping their lives and like what if the pilots like flying?
Based on the title I assumed they weren't supposed to ever eject themselves 😂
Wouldn’t it be safer to have hatches? Oh I just realized how stupid I sound. Why not just have buoyant jets? Nvm I am still dumb 😐
Ejection is punishment enough

Wow ! Fortunate !
Well I'm sold sign me up!
Need context im assuming not if their life is in danger right
I could imagine just slowly floating down like “I’m so gonna get fired for this....”
“Eject! There’s a missile hitting you!” “Sorry, no. Don’t wanna lose my job.”
All sounds shitty. But ide rather that then death
My mates dad got fired from the RAAF for crashing 2 F16
30% getting spinal fractures?!? That's a very large percentage!!!

Over the speed of sound you will risk breaking your neck ejecting
Look up what happens when you have to eject when you are flying faster than the speed of sound. The air can literally rip you apart.
Then what is the point of the emergency ejection???(besides them dying of course, but you know what I mean)
Goose 😔 ✌️
So no, there is no punishment for ejecting, there are just consequences.
I'm pretty sure that modern day ejection seats are a lot safer and less harsh now though right?
Great design!
they will be grounded...for sure.
F for the airplanes
Had to look at this a few times. Noting the aircraft on a cold catapult being pushed off the carrier, was the Kittyhawk. The XO was fired for turning in the plane and running it over. Causing the carrier to heavily lurch towards the starboard side. I remember getting tossed against the bulkhead!
Fuck that noise, I’m dropping with the bird in a neighborhood. Fly together die together, Japanese had that hidden knowledge
Man for how expensive a single jet is they better not be trusted with two
A very good pilot is worth more than any plane.
I got jebaited

Seat ejected... There goes the pilot. Annnn there goes acouple hundred million dollars.
Look up the man who survived a mach ejection
No, i never wondered that. Thank you for making my day less interesting.
Often times, your first mistake is your last.
If you are going to destroy a multimillion dollar plane, you should go down with it like a ship captain

The answer is not a simple yes but thanks for coming out
I mean it is a wast of fuel and alk that so i guess vso ya
In today's world everyone needs one for thier passengers.
Pilots usually lose height in their spine dude to its being condensed by the mortar, and usually arent conscious for the entire eject so it doesnt matter pain wise
shit has me thinking of goose... 😔
Should be implemented in all airplane not just fighters jet
Wow
That's why I take my chances of staying in the plane. Still flying after 5 respawns. Haven't been ban yet!!
Gta character: tis but a scratch
So no... you could’ve just said no
The punishment is that they will.test each ejection seat of US AF jets to see if all is working

Anything over 15 Gs is typically considered way way above what is considered "acceptable" for operations though...
Yes is does. If it happens too many times. Their back is Fucked
So what is the punishment?

So the answer is "no"? No punishment, just consequences.
I've watched this happen as an aircraft firefighter. Spoke with the man shortly after; to get his patch.. It's bad- but not as dramatic as anything in the video or top comments are suggesting. I thought they could punch 3 times before their spine was no good; and was understanding that a pilot was compressed a little under an inch each time. The value of the craft was the minor factor on them flying again.
No, that is exactly what i thought. What did you mean?
Now I know why Kamikazes choose quick death over that

What happened to John McCain the traitor?
Why would they get punished though? If something goes haywire, they’re not exactly responsible for that...at least I don’t think they are.
